how to draw a bunny step 1

Learn how to draw a cartoon bunny by starting off with some basic circles as many other drawing lessons do, and then move in and start adding details to finish it off. Got your pencil and eraser handy? Let's dive in and create this cute cartoon rabbit!

Step 1

Start off by drawing an oval for the head, and then make another one for the body. These ovals will form the base of your cartoon bunny.

Next, add two more stretched ovals to the top of the head for the ears. Drawing like this helps create a guide for you that you will use in the next steps while you are finishing your drawing. Let's move on to the next step.

Step 2

The next thing to do while learning how to draw a bunny is to add a horizontal (sideways) oval across the lower part of the face. Then add a circle to the lower part of the body to create the shape that will become the back leg.

Once that's done, you've finished the hard part for this step. Remember to try and get your image to look like the example on the right for best results.

Add another small circle for the tail behind both the body and the circle you just created for the back leg. Finally, draw three slightly curving lines coming from the front of the body just under the head. These lines will make the front paws of your cartoon rabbit.

Step 3

Do you have your eraser handy? Start off by erasing the lines on the head so that your two ovals will come together into one shape that looks a bit like a pear. Next, add another stretched oval to the inside of each ear. That will finish off the ears.

Next, erase the lines from the body so that the front paws show clearly. Then, add two rounded curves to the bottom of each of the front paws.

Finish off this step by erasing the bottom of the circle that you drew in the last step for the hind leg, and then draw a little foot on the bottom of it.

Don't forget to add a small curve to the side of the front paws. This curve will give the hint of the rabbit's other kind leg.

Step 4

You're on the last step of learning how to draw a bunny - let's keep going! Start off with adding an upside down triangle for the nose, and then draw a few lines coming down from that to indicate the mouth.

Next, add two ovals for the eyes, with two curved lines on top of them for the eyebrows.

The last thing that you need to do is add in two more circles into the middle of the eyes to show the pupils. If you look closely you'll notice that the pupils that are in the example step 4 actually look like little moon shapes. This is a good shape because it gives a hint of showing a high light on the eyes.
